A REPLICA of the iconic Fiat used in hit E4 comedy The Inbetweeners, complete with a single red door, has gone up for sale at a bargain price.

The original car appeared in the cult series following a group of four teens navigating their way through the transition to adulthood, as well as in medical drama Casualty.

The Cinquecento model, portrayed as a fictional "Hawaii" special edition, was used reluctantly by lead character Simon Cooper until it was accidentally rolled into a lake in the show's final episode.

The hated motor was bought for Simon, played by Joe Thomas, by his well-meaning parents, much to his dismay.

It was originally bright yellow all over but the out-of-place red door was added after Jay Cartwright, played by James Buckley, accidentally ripped it off during a trip to Thorpe Park.

The car played its part in key plot points across the series, including earning the scorn of the parents of Simon's girlfriend Tara and being the site of an enthusiastic but messy rendezvous between fellow main character Neil and an unnamed girl.

The same vehicle was then used in 2018 by Michelle Fox's character in Casualty and was nicknamed Betty.

Now an Inbetweeners megafan is selling a replica of the legendary Cinequecento for just £650.

Will Bevan, from Frome, Somerset, described it as a "good running car that starts every time".

However, he does admit that there are a few differences from the original.

Will's version is actually the slightly smaller Seicento model and features a broken indicator, cracked windscreen and leaky sunroof to boot.

It also obviously has a different registration to the TV car but both plates, as expected, bear the same digits, while the one seen on screen actually had different numbers on the front versus the back.

Sadly, the car has not proven popular with buyers, with comments on the listing accusing will of "having a laugh".

One wrote: "I wouldn't own a Fiat even if you paid me."

And another joked: "Thorpe Park anyone?"
