Sadio Mane's new wife Aisha Tamba says she is determined to remain humble and won't be changed by the fame and wealth of her husband.
Aisha, 18, married the 31-year-old former Liverpool forward in an Islamic arranged marriage ceremony in Keur Massar, near Dakar, Senegal, on January 7. The arranged marriage instantly caused a stir on social media, with Aisha now set to swap her life living with up to 30 relatives in Dakar for living with Mane in Saudi Arabia, where he plays for Al-Nassr alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
Speaking through a relative to the Mail Online, Aisha said: "I am looking forward to my new life and I know that it will be very different. But I do not feel any pressure because Sadio’s fame and money will not change me. This is not what I’m interested in. I will remain a humble person committed to my faith.
"I’m not used to having so much attention on me because we are a very private family. We don’t like to show off and speak about our personal lives. I am a very down to earth person, this is how I was raised, and nothing will be different just because of this marriage. But I’m very honoured to now be Mrs Mane."
Mane scored 120 goals in 269 appearances for Liverpool between 2016 and 2022, winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup with the Reds. He is currently in the Ivory Coast preparing to play for Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Jurgen Klopp's approach with Robert Lewandowski bodes well for Darwin NunezHe met Aisha through her father, with the teenager now set to continue with her academic studies for her baccalaureate before moving in with Mane later this year.
Her cousin Amadou, who lives in the same house as her alongside other family members, told the Mail Online: "As a family, our number one priority is Islam. We are not interested in all the things that people associate with the life of a wealthy footballer. We are very happy that Aisha has married Sadio but it’s because he’s a humble man, not because he is rich and famous."
Aisha is set to stay away from the limelight and prioritise her studies over seeking the same type of fame as Ronaldo's partner Georgina Rodriguez, saying "I don’t know who she is and I don’t do any social media."
