A woman has been called out by social-media users over her choice of bridesmaid dress that some thought would be "inappropriate" for a wedding. Taking to TikTok, Georgia asked people to help her decide between two dresses that she said were the best choices, with one of them looking like it would be just as suitable for a club night or a day at the beach and the other a classic dress for a night out.
Showing both in a video clip, one was a pink two-piece with bright red flowers and a cut-out that showed off her midriff, while the second was a pink sequinned gown. She said it was for her sister's wedding the next day but that she was "in an absolute panic" about which one.
The woman said: "I'm a bridesmaid, the theme is pink, and we got to pick our own dresses." She added that she was worried about showing some skin with the first dress. But the comments below the video became quite brutal, with many saying the first dress was not suitable at all, while others say they loved the first option.
One woman said that baring skin at something as formal as a wedding was "concerning", and someone else said the two-part dress wasn’t "classy", while one claimed the first dress option just "screamed" that she wanted attention.
Others said that they would be fuming if a bridesmaid appeared at their wedding wearing something like the first dress, with one saying: "I would kill my sister if she wore either." Another hated both options and added: "I’d be so mad if you turned up in either,” while another replied: "I think they’re both inappropriate."
Stalking terror rocks Coronation Street as barmaid targetedOne person claimed the two-piece dress was more like a bra and skirt and therefore not for a wedding and someone else said wearing that dress seemed to be an attempt to steal the bride's thunder. Despite the negative feedback, Georgia, who is in her twenties posted another video, taken at the wedding, where she wore the two-piece dress and claimed she had no regrets.
She explained that she didn’t expect people to be "divided" over her two-piece option but was "so glad" she did and added that she had asked the bride about what she should wear and that she was more than happy with her choice.
And while some commenters said that if the bride approved, then "what's the problem" another added: "Bridesmaid no. Guest yes. It’s gorgeous and looks great, but I feel the style will look dated in a while but still be in most of my wedding day pics."
