A FAN-favourite supercar will continue to be produced after the manufacturer announced a new deadline.

The Audi R8 with its iconic V10 engine was meant to come off the production line late last year when the German manufacturer announced it in 2019.

However, after hearing the news Audi enthusiasts rushed to get their hands on the "howling V10 supercar before it disappeared forever".

The new date announced by Audi is the end of March when Q1 closes.

This means it's only a matter of weeks before the final car rolls out of the factory in Heilbronn, Germany.

Unfortunately, if you were looking to get your hands on the Audi R8 supercar you would be disappointed.

The "stay of execution" is for the manufacturer to fulfil existing orders and Audi's UK website explicitly lists the R8 as subject to stock availability.

The end of production will bring to a close nearly 18years of Audi's halo car, which was produced in 2006 in its original, V8 form.

After March the Lamborghini Huracan will be the last standing V10 power motor with production of that car supposed to end later this year.

The Audi R8 supercar has no successor lined up, however, there have been rumours of a fully electric halo car in the works.

The German supercar can cost anywhere between a whopping £130,000 and £160,000.

There are around 1.7million Audi's on the roads in the UK.

It comes after the German manufacturer revealed the futuristic upgrade that could save drivers money in the long run.

And this Audi motor turns back the clock with retro upgrades on the new "super estate" model.
