A member of the Sunrise team then came into shot and pretended to make a fist - but it enraged Waller.
He fumed: âI donât think you understand â if I come over there right now, weâre going to have the police here, cause' Iâm not going to give you some fake punch. Iâm going to punch you straight in the jaw.
âThe disrespect that you have, even talking to me? You want to talk to me like this ainât real? Donât act all tough lad, donât act all tough."
The heated incident divided fans online, with some suggesting it was a "shoot" a term used in pro wrestling to describe an unplanned or unscripted moment.
But others assumed Waller was refusing to break "kayfabe" - the act of remaining in character at all times.
One said: "Really want to hear what the camera dude told him away from the mic that set him off, right before standing up.
"He wouldnât go off like that randomlyâ¦didnât feel like he was working us at all."
Another added: "Itâs clearly a work."
But one argued: "Kayfabe is alive and well!"
