A MURDERER taken to hospital yesterday battered two guards before escaping and being found hiding in a cemetery.
James Demarco, 33, left the GEOAmey security workers launched the brutal attack when he seized the chance to flee Perth Royal Infirmary.
The lifer was on the loose near the busy centre before being cornered in a nearby graveyard.
Demarco was caged for a minimum of 15 years for severing three arteries in the neck of army recruit Jamie Ewart, 18, in a house party horror blade killing.
A prison insider said: “Both of them have been left with serious injuries.

“They could have been killed by Demarco.
“He is pure evil.”
Demarco, of Pilton, Edinburgh, left the guards a bloody mess after pouncing before running out of the hub and into nearby Wellshill Cemetery around 1.30pm.
Police Scotland confirmed he was taken back into custody.
A spokesman said: “Officers were called to a report of a 33-year-old man having escaped from security staff within the Jeanfield Road area of Perth.
“Officers attended and he was traced in Wellshill Cemetery and returned to custody.
“He will be subject to a report to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with this incident.”
A Scottish Prison Service spokesman said: “I can confirm an individual escaped from custody of GEOAmey, in Perth at around 1.30pm on Monday.
“He was traced by Police Scotland within 30 minutes and has since been returned to our custody.”
