COCA-Cola is bringing back a popular flavour that was discontinued 18 years ago.

The fizzy drinks giant will once again sell Lemon flavoured cola in the UK for the first time since 2006.

The brand says the new drinks combine the great taste of Coca-Cola with a delicious zesty lemon flavour.

The flavour is available in both the Zero Sugar and Original Taste variations.

The Zero Sugar option is perfect for those wanting to enjoy the Original Taste flavour but with zero sugar and zero calories.

Coca-Cola Lemon Zero Sugar & Original Taste are available now at all major retailers nationwide in the following formats:

Those looking to bag the drink in bulk can purchase cases of 24 330ml cans directly from Coca-Cola's UK website.

A multipack of Original Taste Coca-Cola Lemon costs £14.50 - working out at roughly 60p a can.

Multipacks of the Zero Sugar alternative can be purchased for £12.50 - which works out at roughly 52p a can.

Be aware that other retailers can set their own prices for the product.

It comes after numerous Coca-Cola fans have taken to social media in recent years, begging for its comeback.

One person said on X (formerly Twitter): "Coca-Cola, please bring lemon coke back to the UK."

Another said: "Lemon Coke is sorely missed in the UK."

"I don't understand why we don't get lemon Coke back in the UK - it's fab," said a third Coca-Cola fan.

Coke with lemon was originally launched in the UK in 2001 after research showed drinkers liked to add a slice to their soft drink.

The drink was discontinued in 2006 but remains available in various countries, including Spain, Portugal and France.

In 2007, the company launched Diet Coke Citrus Zest, which featured a combination of lemon and lime flavours.

But this was quietly discontinued in 2018, much to the dismay of loyal fans.

Laura Moon, senior brand manager at Coca-Cola, said: "We're thrilled to be able to meet consumer demand by expanding our flavours portfolio with the inclusion of Coca-Cola Lemon – it's quite literally happiness in a bottle!

"We're consistently considering new variations and would encourage eagle-eyed Coca-Cola fans to watch this space for more."

Coca-Cola lemon is not the only new drink launched by the fizzy drinks chain in the UK this year.

In collaboration with Pernod Ricard, Coca-Cola revealed that shoppers can now get Absolut Vodka and Sprite ready-to-drink canned cocktails.

The new alcopop is available in a 250ml cans at 5% ABV, and can be bought now from most major retailers.

The can's design combines Absolut Vodka's iconic bottle silhouette front and centre and a vibrant colour gradient, reflecting the perfect mix of Absolut's full-bodied, smooth character with Sprite's highly refreshing lemon and lime flavour.

Francesco Ottaviano, global RTD portfolio director at Pernod Ricard, said: "While Absolut Vodka and SPRITE have long been enjoyed together around the world, we now unite two powerhouse brands in a unique ready-to-drink product.

"We are thrilled to present this exclusive premium proposition in a convenient and portable format to our European consumers."

The fizzy drinks chain isn't the only brand bringing out new flavours this year.

Britvic launched Tango Mango earlier this month.

Succeeding Tango's popular Paradise Punch flavour, this latest rotation is set to meet the demand for Mango flavoured drinks, giving shoppers more sugar-free options without compromising on taste.

Available from 1 February for 12 months, the fruit-flavoured fizzy drink is available to enjoy in formats to be consumed at home or on the go.

Tango will also release Raspberry Blast and Cherry Blast flavours in the coming weeks.

These two flavours are widely known as the combination used in the Ice Blast slushies we see on offer in cinemas nationwide.

Fans of the new flavours have been left ecstatic after hearing the news.
