In Monday's edition of 24 Hours in Police Custody, true crime enthusiasts watched the police investigate a Luton country drugs line.

It took the police six months to bring down the Kane Line Gang who were accused of peddling £100k of class A drugs each week.

The leader of the ring, Kane Lee, was found guilty and sentenced to eight years in prison.

However, viewers were left fuming after they tuned into the commercial broadcaster expecting a new episode of the show.

They took to social media to express anger and dissapointment as one fumed: "Normally love watching #24hoursinpolicecustody but can't be doing with repeats so haven't bothered switching on tonight ????."

Another raged: "First aired in 2018 and not seen since then.. In other words it's a repeat #24hoursinpolicecustody."

As a third asked: "Is it repeat??"

Whilst a fourth noted: "Looks like #24HoursInPoliceCustody is another repeat."

Someone else put: "Why are all episodes recently repeats #24HoursInPoliceCustody."

And a sixth added: "Seen this #24hoursinpolicecustody before but I need my fix while (hopefully) they make new episodes."

Channel 4 confirmed that the episode was first seen six years ago back in 2018.

On the 4Viewers account on X - formerly known as Twitter - they said: "Tonight’s episode of #24HoursinPoliceCustody, first screened in 2018, follows a major surveillance operation run by a covert team of officers from Bedfordshire Police, 9pm on @Channel4."

Ahead of the re-screening, Bedfordshire also took to their official X account as they insisted how important it was for the public to see the show.
