When Katherine Ryan took to social media to tease the outfit she wore for the pre-recording of the Jonathan Ross show, it sparked a huge conversation among her followers.

Usually, fans go wild for a star's outfit but this time they were left in a state of high anxiety as her lilac dress, that was filled with holes all the way through, triggered those who suffered with Trypophobia - which is an aversion to the sight of repeated patterns. The mum of three, 40, who will be on tomorrow night's programme (February 24) was on the ITV show along with film actor Ray Winstone, comedian Eddie Kadie and Noel Fielding.

Katherine shared a clip of the moment she got up to dance with the Sexy Beast actor but fans were more concerned with her choice of outfit. Katherine acknowledged that her dress could be triggering. She posted a message saying: "This dress scares people who are afraid of many holes, so there’s that. But I’m wearing it on the Jonathon Ross Show on Saturday night."

Trypophobia is reportedly not medically recognised as a mental condition or known as an official phobia until is causes distress as a result of their feelings. It didn't take long before Katherine's post generated a flurry of comments. One person wrote: "Yep, trypophobia. I have it. Have to look but hate looking."

And when someone posted an emoji of someone raising their hands similar to that at school to admit they too suffer with the condition. Katherine responded immediately to apologise. Another person wrote: "Omg noooooo, I have trypophobia, love you but NOPE…just NOOOOO!!!"

A third commented:"Nah, I have trypophobia and your dress doesn’t bother me. The holes need to be closer together! The holes for trypophobia aren’t scary, they make me shudder in disgust." Scientists who have looked into the background of the condition claim that it's due to evolution as many years ago, it's believed humans learned to associate patterns of holes with danger or disease.

Away from the spotlight, it seems as though Katherine's marriage has hit a sticky point after she confessed that she only has sex twice a month with husband Bobby Koostra. The star explained that they sleep in separate beds as they are currently co-sleeping their two youngest children.

The admission was made on her documentary Parental Guidance where viewers saw Bobby ask his wife back in bed. Katherine gave birth to her third child in December 2022. Taking to social media, her husband revealed they chose the unique name of Fenna Grace. Sharing intimate pictures from the birth, the dad said Katherine had been "incredible" throughout her labour and their baby was delivered at their family home in north London. Bobby wrote: "Fenna Grace Kootstra. Dec 16, at 12:05am.Mom is incredible! Proving her strength repeatedly through the relatively lengthy delivery at home. We are so blessed:)"

Katherine and Bobby were teenage sweethearts but in a twist fate, after 20 years they rekindled their romance. The couple drifted apart after she moved to the UK. Katherine revealed that she is incredibly fertile during a chat on her podcast. She explained: "I'm pregnant, I've been pregnant for a while and here's how I did that. I got pregnant while breastfeeding the first time I tried and to be honest with you I don't think it's going to work because I'm 39 - I would have been 38 when I got pregnant."
