ONLY Fools and Horses is one of the nation's most beloved shows, regularly topping polls for the best British comedy of all time.

But what happened between the stars of the show when they had a 'huge row' on set?

What happened between David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst?

Sir David jason, 82, and Nicholas Lyndhurst, 62, were bored one day while on location, so they decided to play a prank on the crew that left them 'quaking in their boots'.

The comedy duo came up with a plan to fake an argument in a bid to find something to do to pass the time during long breaks in filming on Only Fools and Horses.

The pair worked together on the popular sitcom for 22 years before it came to an end in 2003.

What has David Jason said about the 'fall-out'?

In an interview with The Mirror, he spilled all on one of their 'furious rows' which saw the pair insist they would 'never work together' again.

David said: "One day, Nick and I were in our very small caravan on location.

"We were all fed up because nothing was happening so Nick and I said 'Why don't we stage a huge row and you can storm out and say you're leaving and I can shout at you saying don't you ever come back again?'

The whole crew went stiff.

"Five minutes went by and the producer and director came to see me and they were quaking in their boots.

"They asked what's going on and I told them to go see Nick."

At this moment, he knew the game was up as he continued: "When they got to him, I couldn't contain myself any longer and roared with laughter.'

"They went from white to purple in their faces.

"I don't think the producer was much impressed."

Did David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst appear on any other TV shows together?

As well as starring in Only Fools and Horse, David appeared in another comedy classic, Porridge — while Nicholas starred in the show's sequel, Going Straight.

They did not appear in any episodes together, however.

Both of them also appeared in The Dick Emery Show, but not the same episodes.

The actors have been interviewed at the same time on many TV programmes as guests, such as Parkinson, This Morning and Wogan, and have also appeared together on gameshows such as Blankety Blank and Give Us a Clue.

Jason and Lyndhurst have also used their talents to raise money on the BBC's Children in Need.

Where are David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst now?

In August 2023 David revealed that he was forced to pull out of an Only Fools and Horses event because he was having surgery

He issued a statement that read: "I am so very sorry for the disappointment and all the inconvenience it may cause but we are having to change the date of the forthcoming Only Fools and Horses Convention.

"Unfortunately I have just been advised I need a new bionic body part fitted. I won’t tell you which part it is, or you will all want one!

"And don’t worry it’s not being supplied by Monkey Harris, it’ll be the pukka gear."

But David thrilled fans when he arrived at the rescheduled event in January 2024, appearing to be in good health.

The same month he also returned to TV with new show David & Jay's Touring Toolshed.

In 2019 Lyndhurst turned his attention to the stage, playing the role of the innkeeper in the English National Opera’s production of Man of La Mancha, performing alongside another comedy legend, Frasier's Kelsey Grammer.

But Nicholas has understandably been staying out of the public spotlight since a family tragedy in 2020.

His son Archie suddenly died after suffering a brain haemorrhage caused by acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
