But Zara shoots back: "Who said that?" before brutally asking: "Didn't we get married in 2011?!"

The couple tied the knot in July 2011, just several months after Zara's cousin Prince William wed the now Princess of Wales at Westminster Abbey.

The ceremony took place at the Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh and since then they've become parents to three children- Mia, Lena and Lucas.

And in the same interview, Zara told of "feeling guilty” about returning to her sporting career after having children.

She explained: It is hard getting your body back when you’ve been riding for 30 years or whatever it is, 25 years, and then your body being just completely not doing that and your muscles doing nothing and stretching and creating an amazing thing, but it’s just completely different."

And added: "I found it hard getting yourself back to it, but mentally you feel guilty as a mother leaving your child to go and do something else.”

In another part of the half-hour-long chat, Zara, the daughter of Princess Anne and a granddaughter of the late Queen, talks about her horse High Kingdom, with whom she won her Olympic medal.

She reveals how delighted she was she won the Olympic medal, especially for the horse's owner Trevor Hemmings, who died last year.

She said: "We managed to get him [High Kingdom] to the Olympics, which was incredible. Trev – Trevor Hemmings – has won so many amazing things racing, in his racing career, and Grand Nationals and things like that."

And she held back the tears as she added: "But to see his face at the Olympics and to get that team medal was amazing. And to be able to give something back to him when he had supported me for so long was incredible. I'm going to get emotional."

As she shed tears, Mike proudly told her: " I think that sums you up. You always put your owners and your horses first, sometimes at the detriment to yourself.

"You will train a horse before you train yourself and you will make sure the horse is right before you do it to yourself."
