CANADIAN lawyer Brian Mulroney famously served as the country's 18th prime minister from 1984 to 1993.
He died in February 2024 at the age of 84, leaving behind his wife, Mila, and four children.

Brian Mulroney married his wife in 1973 and they went on to have four children together, daughter Caroline and sons Ben, Mark, and Nicholas.
The Mulroney children grew up in the spotlight thanks to their father's career, but they have since made names for themselves in their respective fields.
Caroline went on to become a lawyer and now serves as the President of the Treasury Board of Ontario.

On February 29, 2024, Caroline took to X, formerly Twitter, to announce that her father had died.
"On behalf of my mother and our family, it is with great sadness we announce the passing of my father, The Right Honourable Brian Mulroney, Canada’s 18th Prime Minister," she wrote.
"He died peacefully, surrounded by family," she added.
While his death was confirmed, a cause was not provided.
Caroline added that the family would "share details of arrangements when they become available."
Mulroney has since been remembered for his extensive political career and close relationship with US presidents.
"Brian Mulroney loved Canada. I’m devastated to learn of his passing," Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wrote on X after Mulroney's death was announced.

Mulroney was married for over 50 years.
Brian and Mila Mulroney tied the knot in 1973 when she was 19 and he was 34.
Outside of being known as the former prime minister's wife, Mila is recognized for her work with children's charities.
