Liverpool have moved quickly to help fans who experienced a ticketing issue outside Wembley stadium.

Thousands of Liverpool fans have descended on the capital for Sunday's Carabao Cup final against Chelsea, however, a small portion had been experiencing ticketing issues, with fans on social media flagging the problem shortly before kick-off.

It's understood that a number of digital tickets sent out by Liverpool have not been working with some fans forced to wait for the Wembley ticket office to provide them with a paper alternative.

The club have reached out to fans in a bid to help, posting on their official social media account: "If your ticket is showing a barcode, please remove from the wallet and re download from the original email. The ticket should then show a QR code which will allow entry into the turnstile."

It's understood that a only small number of Liverpool fans were affected by the issue, which was experienced on Android devices.

Over 80,000 fans are expected at Wembley for the first major domestic trophy final of the season. The match between Liverpool and Chelsea is a repeat of the 2022 final, which the Reds won following a dramatic penalty shootout.

The meeting between Liverpool and Chelsea could be Jurgen Klopp's final match at Wembley after he announced he would be leaving his role at the end of the season.

Liverpool will have to cope without the services of key forwards Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez against the Blues. The duo, who both missed the 4-1 win over Luton Town in midweek, are absent from the squad with injury issues.

Chelsea, meanwhile, head into the match with an opportunity to win the first trophy of the Mauricio Pochettino era. The Blues were beaten 4-1 by Liverpool in the Premier League last month but Klopp is adamant that will count for little at Wembley.

He explained: “The final is a completely different game, there’s no home ground obviously. We played them now a couple of times in a final and we know one part is blue and one is red. We know what our people are able to do, but the Chelsea people will be looking forward to it as well.

“But everybody knows, a final, there is no favourite, it starts at nil and for each little advantage you want to have, you have to work incredibly hard.

“The two Chelsea games in the finals [in 2022], I remember as two of the best draws I’ve ever been part of in my entire life because it was from a tactical point of view incredible, from an intensity point of view incredible, and then 0-0, 0-0 – strange one.”
