Chilling footage has shown the moment a hooded knifeman brazenly walked down the street with a huge blade near a primary school.
The man was spotted, by a driver passing, in Handsworth, Birmingham. clutching the sinister-looking knife this week. As he walked past a school, the car passenger shouted: "Yo bad man, put the knife away. Oi, you fool."
The unfazed guy fails to respond to the shouts and a second clip shows how he continued to stroll up the street still carrying the weapon. A man was later arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife and threats to kill.
The footage was branded "terrifying" after being obtained by the Birmz Is Grime blog and uploaded to social media where it has been viewed thousands of times. One web user commented: "This is so brazen as he knows there's no proper punishment." Another added: "Wow WTF" while a third said: "Should have called 999 straight away." One person said: "Like he doesn't have a care in the world, this is terrifying and so close to a school."
West Midlands Police said a 24-year-old man was arrested today on suspicion of possession of a knife and threats to kill. A force spokesperson added: "Officers were called to a property on Stafford Road today at around 6.45am following reports that a man had been threatened with a knife. The suspect was arrested on nearby Benson Road a short time later and remains in custody. Anyone with information has been asked to get in touch via 101 or Live Chat, quoting 20CC/12509/24."
