It’s claimed The Notorious attacked her on July 17, 2022, during celebrations on board his two yachts for his 34th birthday.

McGregor strenuously denies the allegations and Spanish cops previously stated that the MMA star was not involved.

The woman, who is said to be from Dublin, first made a formal complaint about McGregor to gardai after returning to Ireland.

Now Spanish cops have confirmed McGregor is being investigated by a court in Ibiza over the alleged attack.

The Irish Sun understands the woman says there is mobile phone evidence of her injuries.

A court in Ibiza is set to question the woman as an investigating judge is assigned to the case.

It means dad-of-three McGregor could be summoned for questioning, either in a private hearing or by video link.

A source close to the investigation told the Irish Sun: “A judge is assigned to instruct the case, to build investigations, to put the evidence together.

“They will interview a lot of people.

“There will be a conclusion and there will be different legal options.

“There could be a direct hearing, we will have to wait and see.

“What is for sure is that there is a criminal investigation ongoing.

“A judge has to decide the different evidence, the different declarations they will put together.”

On Tuesday, a statement was issued on behalf of the MMA star, which said he “steadfastly” denies any involvement whatsoever in the assault.

The woman has pledged to submit evidence to the authorities in Spain.

Our source told us the investigation by the Spanish cops would be “extensive and lengthy”.

The source said: “There are court proceedings and hopefully everything will be clarified in time.”

It’s understood the woman is also pursuing a High Court application in Dublin to preserve any material relating to the alleged incident, including CCTV and camera phone footage.

The application is reportedly part of her intended personal injuries action for damages for the broken arm and bruising she says she suffered as a result of the assault.

Spanish police began investigating the alleged incident, but the case was shelved as the victim did not make a full statement to cops on the island of Formentera.

But it’s now reopened in Spain at the request of her lawyers.
