The New York Jets are considering trading their No.10 draft pick this year - as they focus on building a team around experienced quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The Jets were left in a tough spot when Rodgers injured his Achilles in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season, just five minutes into his first game for the team. This setback disrupted an entire offseason of preparation as the team struggled, rotating quarterbacks Zach Wilson, Tim Boyle and Trevor Siemian without much success.

Now that Rodgers is 40 and entering the second year of his revised $75million (£59.8m) guaranteed contract, the Jets know this season is their best shot at success. The Jets don't need a new quarterback, and Rodgers has plans to play in the NFL for another four years, which means they don't need to pick a future starter in the upcoming draft.

ESPN has reported that the Jets are looking into trade options with teams who currently have a lower pick and need a new quarterback. Even though top projected picks like Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels and J.J. McCarthy will probably be chosen within the first nine picks, it's still a good trade for teams looking for a new starter.

The Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders are all in the hunt for new quarterbacks, each with their own level of urgency. The Vikings need to find a replacement for Kirk Cousins, although they have signed Sam Darnold on a one-year deal.

The Broncos don't often pick a quarterback in the first round, but their general manager George Paton confirmed at the NFL Combine that head coach Sean Payton is on the lookout for a new quarterback. After a tricky contract situation led to Russell Wilson leaving, the Broncos now have Jarrett Stidham as their main option.

The Raiders are also unsure about their next move, having said goodbye to Jimmy Garoppolo, as he's off to the Los Angeles Rams. Last season, Garoppolo was replaced by rookie Aidan O'Connell, and head coach Antonio Pierce hasn't decided what to do next.

However, the Jets are open to offers from any team, as they're looking to get more draft picks, including a second-round pick. As part of the Rodgers trade, the Jets lost their second-round pick to the Green Bay Packers.

The Vikings have two picks in the first round, after getting the No. 23 selection from the Houston Texans. With their current No.11 pick, if they were to trade for No.10, they could have two picks in a row, which would be a great position to be in.

The Vikings don't have any second or third-round picks, with their next selection being the start of the fourth round (108th overall). The Jets are waiting to see what offers come in. They're thinking about adding to their offensive line, wide receiver and safety positions. Giving up No.10 for extra picks could be the answer.
