KATE Middleton's uncle has shut down questions over her whereabouts during the latest episode of Celebrity Big Brother.

Gary Goldsmith, 58, entered the world's most surveillance-filled gaff on Monday where it was feared he'd spill all the royal secrets.

The "black sheep" of the Middleton family negotiated a hefty contract with ITV bosses ahead of his appearance.

Fears about what the 58-year-old could reveal while in the house are already heightened after he previously scorned Harry and Meghan following the release of Spare.

The royals and Middleton family were said to be terrified when The Sun revealed in January that he was in the reboot of the reality show, which launched tonight on ITV1.

But despite their concerns, Gary revealed he promised his sister, and Kate's mum, Carole that he wouldn't be adding to any of the Middleton's stresses during an already tough time.

And since entering the house, Gary has done nothing but praise Kate and her "beautiful" nature.

On Wednesday night's episode, Gary shut down speculation about where Kate was after he abdominal surgery seven weeks ago.

Love Island winner Ekin-Su had asked Gary "Where's Kate?".

He replied: "Because she doesn't want to talk about... The last thing I'm going to do is... there's a kind of code of etiquette. If it's announced, I'll give you an opinion."

The younger brother of Carole Middleton said: "I spoke to her mum, my sister, she's getting the best care in the world.

"And all the family's done is put the wagons round and look after family first before anything else. They put a statement out and just said 'she's taking some time to recoup and will see you in Easter."

Ekin-Su then asked: "I've heard mixed things about Kate and I don't want to make a comment, but whatever it is, do you want her to come back?"

Gary replied: "She'll be back, of course she will."

It comes after questions were sparked on social media this week about the Princess of Wales' whereabouts - something Kensington Palace had to address.

Earlier in the episode, he told housemate Fern Britton that he did not like people calling Kate "common".

He said his father was a painter and decorator and his mother was an accounts clerk, but claimed he and his sister Carol were multimillionaires by the time they were 30.

He added: "So I get a bit narky when they say Kate is common, there's nothing common about their family."

On the first episode of CBB, Gary told how Kate was "simply perfect".

He said on the first episode: "[Kate] is simply perfect.

"First time I met William, Catherine was cooking and William said, 'Hi, do you want a cup of tea?' Very normal."

Kate was seen for the first time since her hospital operation on Monday - just hours before her uncle entered CBB.

The Princess of Wales was in the passenger seat as mum Carole, 69, drove her in an Audi near Windsor Castle on Monday.

She was wearing sunglasses and appeared to be smiling slightly in her first sighting since her abdominal operation.
