Justin Thomas couldn't resist aiming a cheeky dig at LIV Golf star Mito Pereira at the US PGA Champions' dinner, and the Chilean ended up seeing it thanks to Netflix's Full Swing.

The footage was picked up by the Netflix cameras during the 2023 Champions' dinner, which saw all the previous champions get together on the eve of the tournament. The reigning champion is in charge of the menu and hosts the evening, and last year it was the turn of 2022 champ Thomas.

The American stood up to make a toast and aimed a cheeky shot at the previous year's runner-up; Pereira. Thomas had been trailing Pereira on the final hole, but Pereira made a devastating bogey to miss out on the play-off, which saw Thomas defeat Will Zalatoris.

In his toast, Thomas joked: "I personally want to have a cheers to Mito Pereira because this would not happen without him," with the joke earning raucous laughter from the fellow champions.

But one man who wasn't too happy with the joke was Pereira himself, who admitted he only learned about the dig after seeing it on Netflix.

Speaking to Barstool Sports, Pereira said: “It was not very fun for me or I think for anybody. I’ve seen Instagram and he’s not getting a lot of love about that. I’m not really close to him so it’s not like I’m going to go talk to him. It hurt a little bit, just not really to go at him and say something.

“It gives you a little bit of fire. If that happens again I'd really like to be in that position to beat him."

Pereira is next in action at this week's LIV Golf Miami event, while Thomas is keeping himself fresh for next week's Masters and won't play in the PGA Tour's event in the Texas Open this weekend.

The two-time major champion will, however, go to Augusta with a brand-new caddy, having split with Jim 'Bones' Mackay. Thomas announced earlier this week he had parted ways with Mackay, three years after they started working together.
