PRINCE Andrew's Jimmy Savile quip in Netflix drama sums him up perfectly, slammed a royal expert.

Renowned royal commentator Charles Rae told how the shamed duke is "never coming back" in a chat on The Sun's Royal Exclusive Show.

Discussing the release of Netflix's new royal drama, Scoop, Rae highlighted a telling point as actors Rufus Sewell and Gillian Anderson portray Andrew's car crash Newsnight interview.

The BBC's Emily Maitlis quizzed the duke in November 2019, and saw him grilled over his connections with dead paedo Jeffrey Epstein, friend Ghislaine Maxwell and allegations he had sex with a 17-year-old.

Charles Rae told The Sun's Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson: "There's one scene which just sums up Prince Andrew to a tee, and that's when Emily Maitlis and Sam McAlister are sitting opposite to Andrew and are encouraging him to do the interview.

"And, towards the end he says to them 'I don't know why people are so fascinated by my friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, after all I knew Jimmy Saville far more.

"Why would he say that? People say this will draw another nail in Prince Andrew's coffin but I'm not sure there's room for another nail.

"We keep seeing him at the Easter ceremony or something to do with the family and people think he's on his way back, but he's never coming back.

"He's never going to do another royal job ever again."

'VERY EMBARRASSING'

It comes as experts have branded the Netflix production potentially "very harmful" to the Royal Family.

Prince Andrew was snapped riding a horse at Windsor Castle just hours after the show's release.

He waved to people on the grounds and appeared unfazed by royal fans rushing to see the drama.

Yesterday, a royal expert said the Duke of York's "terrifying" trait would be exposed in the show.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams claimed Andrew has a "terrifyingly entitled streak".

He added: "Scoop is part of Netflix, and I think you'll find a lot of people, I think they'll watch it on Friday, because there's been so much publicity.

"I think it will be very harmful."

He added: "When asked if he regretted his association with the deceased Jeffrey Epstein, he answered that he didn't.

"This will be very embarrassing, and it won't be helpful for the royal family."

COURT SETTLEMENT

In February 2022, Andrew settled with his sex crime accuser Virginia Roberts.

The settlement was announced in a joint letter weeks before he was due to face court.

In the joint statement, Andrew's lawyers wrote: "It is known that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked countless young girls over many years.

"Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein, and commends the bravery of Ms Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others."

DOCUMENTS RELEASED

But, earlier this month, it was revealed Andrew could face "a day of reckoning" over claims he lobbied to get his paedophile pal Jeffrey Epstein less jail time.

The details of the allegations could soon be laid out on the table as old court documents are made public.

Andrew has long been linked to Epstein, with one victim of the paedophile claiming the fresh paperwork could be damning for the prince.

The Mirror reported she said: “For years, Andrew has evaded speaking to the FBI, instead giving his own ludicrous version of events to the BBC.

“Finally we will have a day of reckoning the prince has long avoided. What more must it take for him to realise his friendship with Jeffrey will never go away? Speak up, man.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill that will allow the release of the documents linked to the 2006 probe into Epstien's sex trafficking operation.

Previously released legal papers accused Andrew of helping the paedo secure his plea deal - by lobbying the US government.

Two victims claimed the disgraced duke had pressured officials into cutting his pals sentence.

The documents read: “(They are) seeking documents regarding Epstein’s lobbying efforts to persuade the government to give him a favourable plea arrangement, including efforts on his behalf by Prince Andrew.

"They have alleged these materials are needed to prove their allegations that, after Epstein signed the non-prosecution agreement, his performance was delayed while he used his significant social and political connections to lobby the justice department to obtain a more favourable plea deal.”
