NEIL WARNOCK is stepping aside as Aberdeen's manager after less than five weeks in charge.
Warnock, 75, said he had been "honoured" to manage the team for the short period of time he did.
Aberdeen claimed a spot in the Scottish Cup semi-finals with a 3-1 win over Kilmarnock earlier today.
The Dons enjoyed arguably their best performance under Warnock in the victory at Pittodrie.
However, with the club's form in the Scottish Premiership less than desirable, Warnock has stepped aside from his role as Interim manager.

Aberdeen thanked Warnock for his time at the club and revealed their search for a new boss was at an "advanced stage".
A club statement said: "The Club would like to thank both Neil and Ronnie Jepson for their efforts.
“With the search for a new manager at an advanced stage, Peter Leven will assume control of all first team matters until the process is concluded.”
Warnock said: "I was honoured to lead Aberdeen for a short period to help Dave and the Board get themselves into a position where they could get closer to making a permanent appointment.
“It goes without saying that I had hoped I could’ve collected a few more league wins along the way, but I am also delighted to have helped the club into the Scottish Cup Semi Final.

Despite their Cup progress Aberdeen failed to win any of their six league games under Warnock.
Warnock is the fifth boss to depart the club in the last three years.

He has previously managed the likes of Sheffield United, Crystal Palace, Queens Park Rangers, Middlesbrough, Leeds and Huddersfield, where he also left a role earlier this season.
