Peaches Geldof's widower Thomas Cohen has raised their sons following the star's heartbreaking death.

Bob Geldof and Paula Yates' daughter Peaches was born March 13, 1989, and worked primarily in modelling and television. She had two sisters – Pixie Geldof, Fifi Trixibelle Geldof, and one half-sister Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof.

Peaches married musician Thomas in 2012 and they welcomed sons Astala Dylan Willow Geldof-Cohen in 2012 and Phaedra Bloom Forever Geldof-Cohen in 2013. On April 7, 2014, Peaches was found dead at her home in Wrotham, Kent, aged 25 from a heroin overdose, which harrowingly echoed her mum Paula Yates' death.

Paula died from a heroin overdose on September 17, 2000, when Peaches was 11-years-old. Tiger Lily was at home when Paula died of an overdose while Peaches' son Phaedra remained in the house with her for eight hours after she overdosed.

Heartbreak of Peaches' death

Three years after his wife's death, Thomas opened up on the pain he suffered and how he had to focus on his two sons immediately after the tragedy. In an interview with German TV station ProSieben, reported by German newspaper Bild, he recalling having to make his sons their lunch one hour after Peaches died.

He said: "In retrospect, I think she thought the children would close the gap. But that just does not work. Heroin is a drug that makes you feel something better than life. This is the terrible thing: you are feeding your body with something that will kill you.

"When I found her, I was not surprised. I thought to myself at that moment 'yes of course - you had to do that'. What I remember, it must have been an hour after I found her, that it's time for the kids' lunch. They needed their lunch.

"So I took the children's chairs to the table, took the yoghurts out of the fridge, the bananas." Former frontman of band S.C.U.M, added: "There is always hope, even in the greatest grief. You must not let yourself be eaten by grief or transfer it to your children. It takes a while, but now we can look forward."

Thomas' makeover and new alias

In the years after Peaches' death, the musician, who was known for his love of retro tailoring, underwent a dramatic makeover. Thomas adopted a love of dresses and make-up while also using the new moniker Sylph.

Sylph is an air spirit from the 16th-century works of Paracelsus, who describes sylphs as beings of the air. He first showed off his new look back in 2018 with a picture taken in a Berlin art gallery as he sported an orange gown.

Thomas shares a series of ethereal looks under his new alias – and also creates music with the new moniker. In a post shared in 2020, he wrote: "I feel everybody has the potential to be divine."

He added: "But am so sad that even after society had to isolate its re-emerging still without a consciousness companionate enough to recognise divinity in those who understand it within themselves the most. Sending a lot of love to everyone."
