A lucky British Lotto winner has scooped a monster prize of £7,530,298.

The operator of the National Lottery, Allwyn, today confirmed it had received a claim for more than £7million, which was scooped by a single ticket-holder in the Lotto draw on Saturday April 6, 2024. The news of this multi-million pound claim comes after a great start to the month for Lotto players - not only did Saturday night’s draw produce this lucky £7.5M jackpot winner, it also saw one lucky ticket-holder match five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to scoop £1M. The first Lotto draw of the month (April 3) also saw the same £1M prize won by another single ticket-holder.

As with all major prizes, this Lotto jackpot prize claim will now go through the process of validation, which includes checks to ensure the Games Rules Terms and Conditions are adhered to and the integrity of The National Lottery is protected. Subject to validation the prize will then be paid at an appointment with one of Allwyn’s Winners’ Advisers.

Once the ticket has been validated and paid, the ticket-holder will then decide whether or not to go public and share their news. There will be no information on whether they are an individual or syndicate winner, or where the ticket was purchased, unless the ticket-holder decides to go public.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said, “We’re over the moon that this fantastic Lotto jackpot prize has now been claimed. Winning a Lotto jackpot is the stuff that dreams are made of, just imagine the possibilities for this lucky ticket-holder with a whopping £7.5M ready to help turn their dreams into reality. We will now focus on supporting this latest Lotto jackpot-winning ticket-holder through the process and helping them start to enjoy their truly life-changing win.”

Players can buy and check their tickets online by downloading the National Lottery app or at national-lottery.co.uk. Players can also buy and check tickets in retail. Playing online via the app or website means that your ticket is checked, and you get an email notification if you win a prize. You can also scan your retail tickets on the National Lottery app to check if you're a winner

By playing any National Lottery game, players generate £30M each week for National Lottery-funded projects. This money helps fund projects across the nation, with over 685,000 grants – supporting projects both big and small – having been made across the UK to date.
