UK festival headliner Morgan Wallen has been arrested after he allegedly launched a chair from the rooftop of a bar.
The country singer was arrested for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct following a night out in Nashville, Tennessee. He was taken into custody following an incident at a bar on Sunday night. Morgan competed in the sixth season of the US version of The Voice and is set to headline BST Hyde Park this summer.
The 30-year-old has been accused of throwing a chair from the roof of the six-story Chief’s Bar on Broadway, just before 11pm. Reports suggest the chair landed on the ground near two Metro Nashville police officers. Wallen was taken into custody and held on a $15,250 bond. He will be due in court on May 3.
Metro Nashville Police Department said: "Country artist Morgan Wallen, 30, was booked early today on 3 counts of felony reckless endangerment and 1 count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct for throwing a chair from the rooftop of Chief’s Bar Sun night. The chair landed on Broadway, close to 2 MNPD officers. His bond: $15,250."
Several witnesses claimed to see the Wasted On You hitmaker "pick up the chair, throw it over him, laughing afterwards," according to an affidavit obtained by USA Today. Officers stated the incident posed a danger to the public and that he "created a hazardous condition by an act that served no legitimate purpose".

They told the publication: "At 10:53pm Sunday evening Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities."
The singer had just kicked off his One Night At A Time world tour in Indianapolis on April 4. He is due to perform in Oxford, Massachusetts on April 20, before returning to Nashville for a performance at the beginning of May. Wallen will head to London to headline BST Hyde Park on July 4.
Other stars headlining the London venue this summer include Stevie Nicks, Kylie, Shania Twain and Robbie Williams. Wallen said of his visit to the UK: "Last fall was my first time in the UK and man, I loved it. I saw so much while I was there, and the people were incredible. To play where legendary artists like Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones have played is a huge honor for me and my band, and we can’t wait to be back."
He also shared the announcement on his Instagram and said: "Just wanted to post this and say how big of a deal this is for me and my team. I’ve always had a desire to bring my brand of country music to an international audience and I’m humbled for opportunity to do so on such a legendary stage."
