Kate Moss shows how to do “bring your kid to work day” in true style when her daughter Lila Grace joins her in front of the camera.
The pair were chosen to promote Fendi’s Peekaboo range, which centres on the Italian fashion brand’s signature handbag.
Kate, 50, and Lila, 21, also a professional model, were selected to “embody the intimate intergenerational story” of the collection, which is based around Silvia Venturini Fendi’s iconic bag.
The leather is hand-stitched in a manner taught to Silvia’s grandmother in 1925 by Rome’s master saddlers to create the first Fendi bag line. One fan cooed: “There is no mistaking they are mother and daughter. They are both very pretty.”
While Kate is one of Britain’s most successful supermodels, she may not be too different to the rest of us her daughter Lila previously admitted in a candid interview. Speaking to British Vogue back in 2022, Lila described her mum as 'old and boring' and let slip she lives in tracksuit bottoms at home but 'doesn't want anyone to know.'
Lila said she has come to realise her mum's style is 'actually really cool' as she lives in leisurewear behind closed doors. “She doesn’t have a good trackies selection. She only has pyjamas," laughed Lila. She probably would hate me saying that! She doesn’t want anyone to know she wears trackies."
Taylor Swift seen looking cosy with Matty Healy's mum Denise Welch months agoKate, now 50, became one of the most in demand models on the planet after being discovered by a modelling scout at the age of 14. Despite the huge success Kate has achieved, she was less keen for a young Lila to follow in her footsteps.
Lila explained: “My mum always put me off [modelling]. She was always like: ‘If you wanna do it, you can, but I wouldn’t recommend it.” But Lila was young when she realised her mum was famous, and young when she, too, felt drawn to a career in modelling. Lila said that she realised her mum was famous when she was eight-years-old and school pals would comment "Oh, your mum's Kate Moss!".
But to0 young, Lila said her mum was old and boring and she simply didn't understand why the whole world was interested in her and photographers would desperately try and snap photos of her when they went out. However, she felt drawn to her mum's job and by the time she was 15, she'd landed her first major campaign and was set to be photographed for Marc Jacobs - and guided through the process by Kate.
Conscious of the 'massive pressure' put on young models, Kate launched her own talent agency in 2017, and soon signed Lila and her best friend Stella, to support young models starting out in the industry.
