Crimewatch host Rav Wilding has announced that he and wife Jill Morgan have secretly split after more than a decade together.

The 46-year-old confirmed that the couple separated last year and took to Instagram to make a painful statement. Rav, the BBC Morning Live presenter, uploaded a short message after speculation swirled about his marriage. The couple share a daughter, who was born in 2020, and will now co-parent.

He wrote a short message, confirming. "For those asking questions myself and Jill amicably separated last year. Our focus is co-parenting our hugely loved and beautiful daughter." Before they married in 2017, Rav was in a relationship with Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton. The couple separated in 2011.

Before his telly career, Rav was a soldier and a former police officer who served with the British Transport Police and Metropolitan Police Service. He also worked as a security guard at Harrods department store in London. Rav revealed on Morning Live that he is dyslexic, dyspraxic and also had been diagnosed by Simon Baron-Cohen as autistic in a film broadcast on the subject.

Speaking to the Press Association, Rav revealed: "I've got this thing called dyspraxia, so I have a hand-eye co-ordination disorder. I'm dyslexic as well, but dyspraxia is kind of like dyslexia with your hands." He continued: "My brain just does not work that way. And the only way I can do anything is if I can see it, visualise it, literally see it with my eyes, what I am supposed to do... It's just the way my brain works. It was kind of tricky."

Dyspraxia affects the planning and processing of movements and coordination as a result of brain messages not being accurately transmitted to the body, although the causes are not fully understood. He said: "I've always struggled with it and just sort of battled on, and it wasn't until I had a formal medical diagnosis a couple of years ago, and they said the extent of what I had and it all made sense. The things I've always struggled with, that's why."

One year into their romance, disaster struck when the former police officer suffered a life-changing injury after signing up to the ITV diving show, Splash! When training for the competition in 2013, Rav snapped his hamstring tendon while somersaulting into the pool.

He had to undergo major surgery, suffered a pulmonary embolism and was left with one leg shorter than the other. As a result of his injury, Rav said in 2016 that he and Jill had to postpone their wedding and put his house up for sale. He told the Daily Mail: "It's been an absolute nightmare since the injury.

"It's completely changed my life and I've been left with permanent problems which affect me even when I'm just walking or standing. It breaks my heart that Jill and I had to cancel our wedding. She has been so supportive during this whole ordeal and all I want to do is show my commitment to her, and even that's been taken away. [The wedding is] on hold indefinitely at the moment until we can get back on track."
