MARGOT Robbie has decided to produce a new film based on the board game Monopoly.
Margot, 33, found a lot of success from the recent Barbie movie based on the doll brand.

Margot and her company LuckyChap seem to want to capitalize on the success of a movie based on a toy.
LuckyChap has been listed as a producer for Barbie, Saltburn, I, Tonya, and other films.

Hasbro Entertainment will also be a producer, as will Lionsgate as they have development rights to the game.
It's not clear how the production companies will create a narrative around the game.
The actor who will play Milburn Pennybags, the iconic mascot of the game, is also unknown.
Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate, didn't share many details, but he did reveal that LuckyChap knows how they will execute the film.
The announcement was made at the movie theater trade show CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
Adam spoke about LuckyChap and said the project was chosen with "great thought and care" while adding that it could be the studio's "next blockbuster."
LuckyChap added that they are excited to bring a game that has resonated worldwide to life.
Zev Foreman from Hasbro said the game "provides an incredible platform for storytelling opportunities."
LESS THAN EXCITED
On X, formerly known as Twitter, moviegoers weren't excited at the prospect of getting a Monopoly movie.

A fifth said, "She’s becoming Kevin Feige of the toys universe," referring to the producer of more than a dozen superhero and Marvel movies.
"It’s like she entered the games world and will never ever leave it," wrote a user.
A final critic said, "If it weren’t for Lionsgate, we could never show other studios what true desperation looks like."
It's unknown if Margot will appear in the movie or if her company will only act as a producer.
