Louise Thompson has revealed how her fiance reacted to her health announcement earlier this week, admitting she saw her future husband crying as she shared the news she has had a stoma bag fitted with fans online.

The mum-of-one, 34, said on Wednesday night that she is "actually quite overwhelmed by the response to my video" amid being showered with support after disclosing that she's had a stoma bag fitted to "save her life" amidst her harrowing health struggles.

The former Made In Chelsea star took to Instagram on Tuesday morning to introduce "the grey bag that may well save my life" to her followers, expressing: "Isn't it bizarre that this little grey pouch is the price I pay for good health! I say good riddance to that nasty menacing colon!"

Hours on from her video announcement, Louise returned to Instagram once again to thank fans for their support and kind messages, and revealed how fiancé Ryan, with home she shares son Leo-Hunter with, reacted after she uploaded her original post on Tuesday morning.

"I'm actually quite overwhelmed by the response to my video because it felt like such a simple thing to do," the reality TV star wrote on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday night. "But maybe that's just because I'm desensitised. Everything feels like a bit of a doddle compared to the tricky road that's led me to this place. Even the response from friends and family has been momentous."

She then went on to share: "Ryan never cries but just after I posted the announcement yesterday I busted him watching the video on his own in our bedroom (I heard the song as I opened the door) and I saw him crying. He said he needed a moment alone. As a result I was a bit teary in the taxi on my way to the recording studio yesterday. But only because I'd made him upset. I'm the sort of loser that cries when I see other people cry.

"This evening he told me that he was proud of me (he's not a big verbal words man so it meant a lot because I knew he REALLY meant it). He also said he thought the delivery was perfect. He's typically quite private so this felt quite different. He's definitely struggled to adjust to all of this change.

"Mainly because he hates that he can't take away the pain from me. I think he also feels really sorry for me and for my poor innocent body. I've received a lot of messages from the family members of people going through something similar so I know how significant it is for loved ones close to someone suffering. They need checking in on too."

Louise concluded: "Anyway I was rather surprised that he thought it was so powerful because I believe I have written much more compelling things about my journey (well iiii believe they're more compelling so I guess i can share those over the coming weeks too. As and when I find the time... and the confidence of course. X."

Since becoming a first-time mum in 2021, Louise has faced a series of health setbacks and been hospitalised multiple times, most recently in February this year. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Louise revealed she recently had a stoma bag attached in a bid to return to full health.

"HOW DO I DISCLOSE THIS SORT OF NEWS?" Louise wrote as she began to caption the video. She mused over how different her announcement was from joyful events like baby reveals, saying: "It's not exactly exciting like a big pregnancy or gender reveal announcement! Hey look i'm having a boy... Hey look i've got a stoma! So I guess i'll just stand here proud in stature.

"With my new friend. Le bum bag that represents life and hopefully a better one. Isn't it bizarre that this little grey pouch is the price I pay for good health!" Wrapping up her heartfelt post, the mother-of-one concluded: "I say good riddance to that nasty menacing colon! Please be kind. Louise was quickly flooded with support from fans and followers, all praising her for using her platform to raise awareness and normalise stoma bags. Zara McDermott, who dating Louise's brother Sam Thompson, told her imminent sister-in-law: "When you think about it, it's a beautiful thing because it means less time in hospital, less time in pain, less time with a poison organ in your body! Now you are free my girl. Now it's time for YOU." Sam also showed some love for his sibling online, calling Louise his "hero" on his Instagram Stories.

Louise and Ryan were over the moon to welcome their first "little miracle baby" in November 2021, but the birth was filled with tension as both mum and baby were "dancing with death". Despite giving birth in November, Louise faced a tough battle to make it home for Christmas due to severe complications.

The reality TV favourite found herself confined to a wheelchair and spent a month in hospital recuperating. She kept her bundle of joy a secret for five weeks before sharing her harrowing experience with her fans. Doctors worked tirelessly to save Louise's life - with the celeb later acknowledging her immense thanks, admitting she might not have been here without the NHS. Just two days before Christmas 2021, Louise announced the arrival of her son on Instagram.

Louise has bravely battled multiple health issues since welcoming son Leo-Hunter with fiancé Ryan. Nearly losing her life during childbirth, the 34-year-old mum was later diagnosed with PTSD, lupus, among other conditions linked to the traumatic experience.
