Rapper Lil Mabu sparked concern from fans as he was thrown backwards after almost shooting himself in a shocking video.

The 19-year-old, whose real name is Matthew Peter DeLuca, was filming a music video with his friends when he pulled a gun out of his trousers. He was filmed waving it around as he danced in front of an open car door before a loud bang went off.

Lil Mabu was thrown backwards into the car and his friends ducked to save themselves from any danger. At the end of the video, the musician can be heard saying: "Bro, stop, stop," before the clip cut off.

Captioning the video, the rapper wrote: "rap snippet gone wrong #oppyday." The shocking video has received more than five million views, but not all fans are convinced it's real.

"I’m an editor I have that same Effect on my hard drive," one sceptical fan wrote. Another said: "You ain’t no gangster fr," while a third person added: "Knew it was fake cause if it was real there’s no way he didnt shoot his self." (sic)

Someone else commented: "Its also not lined up correctly and there's no impact." However, some people had been fooled and expressed their shock over the video.

One concerned fan said: "They easily fooled and it’s scary," while someone else questioned: "Bro why is it even loaded and not on safety?" A third person shared a picture after they zoomed in on the moment the gun was fired and said: "Yeah ur pretty damn lucky

Lil Mabu is yet to address the authenticity of the clip. The rapper shot to fame in 2020 after releasing his song Miss Me. He gained further recognition after collaborating with the likes of Dusty Locane, DD Osama and Chrisean Rock.

He's also found a lot of success on TikTok, with his 2023 track Mathematical Disrespect finding huge success on the platform. Lil Mabu even made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 with the song.
