Liverpool fans think they've found a loophole to convince Jurgen Klopp to U-turn on his decision to quit as boss.
Klopp announced back in January that this would be his final season in charge, rocking the Reds dressing room and breaking the hearts of Liverpool fans around the globe.
The Liverpool players rallied on the demand of Virgil van Dijk and won the Carabao Cup to ensure Klopp will conclude his ninth season at the helm with some silverware to show for his efforts.
But in recent weeks Liverpool have taken their foot off the gas. The Reds were knocked out of the FA Cup by bitter rivals Manchester United, they trail Atalanta 3-0 from the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final and they're no longer blowing teams away in the Premier League as we reach the business end of the competition.
When Klopp announced he was leaving Liverpool he explained that a big part of his decision to quit was because his Reds rebuild was pretty much there.
Premier League odds and betting tips"For me, it was super, super, super-important that I can help to bring this team back onto the rails," he explained, after a difficult last season for Liverpool.
"It was all I was thinking about. When I realised pretty early that happened, it was a really good team with massive potential and a super age group, super characters and all that, then I could start thinking about myself again and that was the outcome. It is not what I want to [do], it is just what I think is 100 per cent right."
Of course, when Klopp made the comments, everyone agreed. Alexis Mac Allister, for instance, has taken to Anfield like a duck to water while Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz are improving all the time.
But now that Liverpool fans are facing the very real possibility of Klopp's final moment as boss being him clapping supporters after the Wolves game on the final day of the season - after the Reds finish second - some are pointing out the 'obvious loophole'.
"He said he is leaving because the team is ahead of the rebuild. Well, they are not ahead of rebuild and Klopp needs to stay," wrote one fan on social media.
Another added: "Klopp just needs to stay another season or two," and a third wrote: "We are not as good as we think, we crumble in big games this season not finishing chances, defensive errors it is a big achievement.
"Klopp made them fight on all fronts because this is still a young team Liverpool 2.0 as Klopp said, which is why we can't let Klopp go. He will do wonders next season with this team for sure. A rebuild takes time and I don't trust any other manager can do it like Klopp did in 2016-18."
Of course, there is little to no chance of Klopp changing his mind now and remaining at Liverpool beyond this season but it appears clear the next boss will have some work to do to complete the rebuild.
