AMAZON is in crisis talks over its Prince Andrew blockbuster after streaming rivals Netflix won plaudits for its version.

Three-part series A Very Royal Scandal is not due to air until October — six months after Scoop, released on April 5.

And bosses are looking desperately for ideas to drum up interest.

An insider said: “Amazon’s in crisis talks.

"They spent a lot of money and are really worried that when it comes out, the public will think, ‘We’ve watched this,’ and it’ll flop.”

A Very Royal Scandal covers Emily Maitlis’s Newsnight interview of Prince Andrew from the perspective of the former BBC journalist.

One idea includes getting Maitlis — who is a producer of the show — grilling actress Ruth Wilson, who plays her.

The Sun previously revealed photos of co-star Michael Sheen as Andrew.

The insider added: “Getting Scoop out first was the best thing.

"Amazon feels like it’s already lost the battle with Netflix.”
