Anyone with a PlayStation 5 tucked under their telly might be pleased to hear that a long-awaited upgrade has finally arrived on these popular consoles. The update, which has been available on the Xbox for some time, is all thanks to the ITVX app finally launching on Sony's machines.

For those not in the know, ITVX is ITV's latest streaming platform and offers IUK homes the chance to watch live and on-demand shows, films and boxsets.

Along with the PS5, it's also been confirmed that ITVX is now available on the PS4 as well.

"ITVX is currently available on the following games consoles: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nvidia Shield, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X," ITV confirmed in an update on its support pages.

Once ITVX is installed on any of the consoles listed above there will be instant access to a swathe of content, and all for free.

Things currently available include top-rated shows such as Passenger, A Spy Among Friends, The Victim and Trigger Point.

Along with the free service, ITVX also offers a premium option. This costs £4.99 per month and includes extra things to watch such as hundreds of movies.

It also offers the option to download content onto devices to watch when away from Wi-Fi or a mobile signal.

ITVX Premium is free for the first 7 days so you can give it a try before you buy. Even if you do sign up there's no long-term contract and you can leave at any time.
