Pochettino managed at Tottenham for five years and signed Dele in 2015 in the last hours of the mid-season transfer window on a five-and-a-half-year deal for an initial fee of £5million.

The midfielder made nearly 200 appearances under the Argentine boss before he was sacked in November 2019.

And the England star remained at Spurs until 2022 before heading to Goodison Park.

However, the pair rekindled virtually after Chelsea's 6-0 demolition against Sean Dyche's side.

Pochettino said to the ex-England man, who was in the Sky Sports studio: "I want to say hello to Dele. What a player oh my goodness! So happy to see you!"

Dele was left speechless, with just a smile on his face after hearing his former boss' words, and fans found it very heartwarming.

As one said: "Woooow that's lovely."

Another added: "So wholesome."

A third then put: "Dele is a wonderful player."

During his time in North London Dele made 269 appearances and scored 67 goals for the Lilywhites.

The now 28-year-old won PFA Young Player of the Year in the 2015-16 season and regained the title the following campaign.

But since he arrived at the

Merseyside club, his career has been cursed with injuries.

The England star spent the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Besiktas in Turkey but returned to England in April due to a hip injury.

Dele faced another setback at the end of last year and was forced to undergo surgery for a groin issue.

And while he is yet to return to the pitch, the Everton star has his sights set on a successful comeback and is aiming to play in the 2026 World Cup.

He also confirmed he has undergone rehabilitation for his mental health in an emotional interview with Gary Neville.

Dele also revealed in an interview last year that he was sexually abused as a child.
