Barcelona have been brutally mocked over a post on social media made just minutes before Kylian Mbappe ended their hopes of reaching the Champions League semi-finals.
Barcelona beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 in the first leg of their quarter-final tie but ultimately lost 6-4 on aggregate after a dramatic second leg. Raphinha scored an early goal to make Barcelona overwhelming favourites to go through, but the game turned on its head when Ronald Araujo was sent off for bringing down Bradley Barcola.
Goals from former Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha drew PSG level on aggregate before Mbappe put them ahead from the penalty spot. Barcelona, though, responded well and the club made a post on social media proclaiming the tie was "not over yet" as they pushed for an equaliser.
However, just minutes after that post Mbappe scored again, sealing PSG's spot in the semi-finals and knocking Barcelona out of the competition. And fans were quick to poke fun at Barcelona over their poorly timed post, with one simply replying: "It is now".
"I'm dying of laughter here," wrote a second. A third added: "What's the meaning of this nonsense?" While a fourth wrote: "Delusion at this club is like a pandemic from the board, to the players, to the fans and even their admin."

Araujo's red card was Barcelona's earliest sending-off in Champions League history and former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, who won the competition back in 2008, felt it completely "changed the game".
Speaking on TNT Sports, Ferdinand said: "Absolutely crazy scenes. I think PSG have to thank Araujo for that red card. It changed the game. I think at that point Barcelona looked the most complete and the most confident of the two teams.
"PSG then looked like a team that were really in control and the confidence went through the roof. Barcelona played their part in a brilliant two-legged tie." Ferdinand also felt that referee Istvan Kovacs had made the right decision in sending off Araujo, despite Barcelona's vociferous protests.
"So many goals are conceded when you make a mistake," he explained. "He gives the ball away. Immediately we see it. He was rash, he backs himself so much with his pace and his strength. But here you see the contact with his leg, that's the main contact that makes him go down.
"He's obviously going to say it's shoulder to shoulder but it's that touch across the defender that really changes it all. Makes it impossible for the defender to get the ball."
