Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds was hit with a hefty tab following the club's raucous celebration of their promotion to the Football League last year - and now the players want him to go even further.

The Welsh club sealed promotion to League One last weekend. Despite missing out on the title to Stockport County, who clinched the championship with a 5-2 victory over Notts County last Tuesday, Phil Parkinson's squad have achieved consecutive promotions just one year after rejoining the English Football League.

Their previous promotion and National League championship win were marked by an unforgettable bash, thanks to Hollywood bigwigs Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who ensured the team had a celebration for the ages.

The Wrexham players were whisked away for a lavish four-day Vegas spree, hitting up iconic spots like Hakkasan and the Bellagio. The highlight reel included rocking out at a Chainsmokers concert and hopping on stage with superstar DJ Steve Aoki, not to mention indulging in the high life at Spago and Omnia.

Captain Ben Tozer has shared that the squad has cheekily asked Reynolds and McElhenney to try and go one better with this year's promotion getaway. "All we've said to them is, 'Try and top last year if you can! ' That's it," Tozer told talkSPORT.

In a similar vein, goalkeeper Mark Howard told OLBG: "There have been rumours of us going back to Vegas again. The owners put on an unbelievable experience last year. the way they look after us is fantastic."

Ex-Wrexham and Manchester United shot-stopper Ben Foster was left in awe of last year's trip, saying it was "like nothing I've ever seen". But the glitzy getaway didn't come cheap Reynolds and McElhenney were left to settle a bill that was nothing short of astronomical.

"I went on the Vegas trip and it was hard work, mate, honestly," Foster shared on The Fellas podcast earlier this season. "The way that Rob McElhenney and Ryan put it on for us, laid it on for us, was just like nothing I've ever seen.

"We got there and it was just straight to the shower, straight get changed, go to Hakkasan for dinner and then we're going to Hakkasan nightclub straight afterwards. All expenses paid.

"We walk in and whatever's playing, the music shuts off and they start playing a Wrexham song," he continued. "We've got a massive closed off VIP area, and there's Wrexham drapes falling from the ceiling, poppers going off everywhere with confetti, glitter.

"There's a screen and it's showing like Paul Mullin scoring goals and stuff like that! It's 1am and they've stopped the music and they're putting this stuff on, and every one of us is just going 'What on earth's going on here?!'."

When quizzed about how much dough he reckons the co-owners forked out for the bash, Foster estimated: "Got to be £500,000, had to be at least half a million. Genuinely, it had to be because they just looked after everything."

Despite the staggering sum, it seems unlikely that Reynolds and McElhenney will shy away from throwing another extravagant celebration should their team clinch promotion from League Two. They've continued to look after the squad and it seems likely they'll arrange some sort of reward for their incredible achievement.
