Over a month after adult film star Sophia Leone was found dead in her apartment, new details are emerging that might explain her tragic death.
Police in Albuquerque, New Mexico were allegedly called to Sophia's apartment on March 1. Over a week after this, her family announced via a GoFundMe page that Sophia had died.
"On behalf of her Mother & Family, It is with a heavy heart that I have to Share the news of our beloved Sophia’s Passing," her stepfather Mike Romero wrote on the GoFundMe, "The Sudden loss of Sophia has left her family and Friends devastated and in Shock, on top of The difficult process of grieving and Seeking Justice for Sophia the family is also facing the Financial burden that they were not prepared for."

The star was only 26 years oldAccording to a police report obtained by TMZ, Sophia was already dead when they arrived at the scene. The report also noted that Sophia's mom told law enforcement said she hadn't heard from Sophia for over 24 hours which worried her.

Sophia's mom also reportedly said that her daughter was "known to drink," according to the article. She also reportedly told them that Sophia previously suffered from suicidal thoughts.
Police are still investigating her death, so there's no word on if Sophia's mom's claims have anything to do with Sophia's death. In her GoFundMe, Mike said his stepdaughter was a "beloved daughter, sister, grand daughter, niece and friend" and described her "deep love for animals," including her three pets.

Sophia's talent agency Modeling 101 wrote on Twitter: "Our hearts are broken by the untimely and tragic passing of our beloved Sophia Leone. A beautiful spirit who touched many of us. RIP sweet angel and know how much we loved you."
Another adult star who worked with Sophia, Dharma Louise Jones, also shared a tribute. "RIP Sophia...she was one of the 1st people I met in the industry when I was new. We were staying at the same model house & I was having trouble falling asleep because of anxiety. I remember we stayed up & talked all night. I’ll never forget her kindness," she wrote on social media.
