Peaky Blinders star Sophie Rundle has revealed she is expecting her second child with a sweet post on Instagram.
The 35-year-old, who has also starred in Happy Valley and recent ITV series After the Flood, announced she was expecting again on The One Show in January. But this is the first time fans have got to see her blossoming bump.
Looking like she could be due any day now, Sophie – who is best known for playing Tommy Shelby’s sister Ada in Peaky Blinders – posed in a pink floral maxi dress as she cradled her growing belly. She jokingly captioned the selfie: “Firmly in my Mama Cass Trimester.”
Over on her Instagram stories she also shared the pic and wrote of her pregnancy: “I forget who I have and haven’t told at this point because I’ve been trying to remember what a waistband is and stop my three-year-old using my belly like a trampoline. Big ‘ol baby number two incoming. Ain’t that a nice thing.”
In another snap in black leggings and a big purple sweatshirt, she said: “Also massive thank you to @sloppyjoesweatshirts for sending me the rest of my day to day pregnancy uniform. I have been wearing these beloved iconic sweatshirts since the NINETIES and will continue to do so forever more. (But especially now, when little else fits). It is true love. Thank you.”

In another snap she said her usual pregnancy outfit was sweatshirts (Instagram)She also gave a shout out to Tubby Toms homemade hot sauces and wrote: “Finally shoutout to @tubbytoms who, when I asked for more pizza hot sauce, absolutely understood the needs of a heavily pregnant woman and send me these GEMS. A hero and an artist.”
Fans were quick to comment on the posts with one asking: “Who’s the father Ada?” While another posted: “A new Shelby is coming to the family” in reference to her most famous character. For those that don’t know, Sophie is in a relationship with fellow actor Matt Stokoe, who is best known for starring as Alex in Channel 4 series Misfits. He has also appeared in drama The Bodyguard, Sky series Jamestown and TV series The Hunt For Raoul Moat.
Both he and Sophie recently starred as a married couple in ITV drama After the Flood, where Sophie played a pregnant police officer solving a murder. Fans could be forgiven for thinking she was pregnant in real-life at the time, but it was actually a fake belly she wore for the role.
Speaking on The One Show back in January, Sophie shared: “I am now pregnant in real life, so this is starting to feel like the longest pregnancy any human woman has ever endured. Wasn’t pregnant then, had a big fake bump and I think I was sort of put off when I had the fake bump. Then enough time passed and now I’m going in for more.”
Sophie and Matt are already parents to three-year-old son Henry. The couple met in 2016 on the set of Sky series Jamestown and are thought to be engaged. There were rumours the pair had secretly tied the knot, but so far this is unconfirmed.
