Violent clash in South Oxhey: Men fought with machetes and threw bricks

Police descended on a train station after a group reportedly fought with machetes and threw bricks at each other.

Five men were apparently involved in the clash outside a block of flats in Bridlington Road, South Oxhey, at around 5.15pm yesterday (February 5).

It was reported that one of the bricks hit a blue Suzuki, believed to belong to one of the men, damaging the rear windscreen.

After Herts Police officers arrived at the scene they spotted and detained a group of males at Carpenders Park train station, however no weapons were located during a search.

No further action was taken against those searched.

Residents reported seeing a large number of officers and police cars near the Station Approach shops outside the railway station.

This apparently resulted in congestion around Hayling Road and Prestwick Road.

Information can be reported online at herts.police.uk/report, or by calling 101, quoting crime reference 41/11755/25.
