A Place In The Sun star Laura Hamilton has spoken out after fans commented on her appearing to be pregnant "a lot on TV".

The presenter, 41, said that people often believe her to have more children than the two she has, thanks to TV repeats of episodes filmed while she was pregnant. Mum to Rocco, 10, and Tahlia, eight, Laura carried both her kids while filming for the show, which she joined in 2011.

But because of reruns of the popular property show being shown while new episodes are due to air, fans have become confused and started to ask questions.

Speaking to Jenni Falconer on her Runpod podcast, Laura said: "You say about the shows being repeated, it's funny because when people meet me they go, 'How many children have you got?' And I'm like 'just two' and they're like, 'Oh, you seem to be pregnant quite a lot on TV'.

Recalling her response, she added: "'No, I'm not pregnant again, just two children'. Because, obviously the show is repeated, so you're pregnant in one, you're not in another, you're pregnant in one. I think the shows that are going out, or about to go out, are more current."

Laura shares both her children with ex-husband Alex Goward, who she was with for 13 years, before they announced their split in 2022. Announcing the sad news on Instagram, the TV presenter shared a photo of a quote which read: "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."

She wrote "This isn’t something I ever thought I’d be saying but, after 13 years of being together Alex and I have separated. Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect privacy for our family at this time. Laura."

Laura later explained to HELLO! magazine why they chose to go their separate ways: "It was a decision we both came to. We have an enormous amount of respect for each other, but we are now on different paths. At the point it was announced, we'd already overcome a lot of difficult times. But I am lucky that we have the relationship and respect for each other that we have, and our children's happiness will always be our priority."

Even after splitting, the pair have co-parented well together, even going on family holidays. In another chat with HELLO!, Laura said: "You say content, but I have moments when I feel this is tough, this is hard, this is not what I expected my life to be. But I'm a glass-half-full person and I have to be positive. I have to be strong. Am I making the best of the situation as I can right now? Yes, 100 per cent."

After they split, Laura moved house and decided to renovate a new property, sharing her progress with fans.
