The NFL has requested Seattle Seahawks star DK Metcalf to submit a drug test after the wide receiver put on an impressive performance at the Celebrity All-Star Game last week.
Metcalf was voted the game's Most Valuable Player as he dominated with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks as he helped Tame Dwyane Wade to an 81-78 win over Team Ryan Smith. Wade and Smith were chosen as honorary captains as the former Miami Heat star is a minority owner of the Utah Jazz while Smith is the governor of the franchise.
Ultimately, it was Metcalf’s remarkable dunking ability that turned heads. The 25-year-old threw down a number of monster slams during the contest, highlighting his renowned insane athleticism after a video surfaced and went viral of Metcalf leaping for a one-handed catch.
Naturally, Metcalf received a message from Brian Keller, an NFL representative, over the weekend. The receiver was called in for a performance-enhancing drug test as the league has clearly taken note of his impressive displays, and Metcalf posted the image to his social media.
“Good Morning DK,” the message read. “This is Brian Keller on behalf of the NFL you’ve been selected for a PES policy collection tomorrow 2/20/23.
Man fined £165 after outraging the internet by dying puppy to look like Pikachu“Please contact me as soon as possible so that we may arrange a time and place to meet tomorrow.”
While it is unconfirmed whether the video has been edited to make Metcalf’s athleticism look almost unnatural, the Seahawks star is renowned due to his impressive size, speed and agility. The footage is originally from a Fast Twitch Super Bowl LVII event in the days leading up to the NFL season finale, and though Metcalf is yet to speak about the viral video, Dallas Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons tweeted his reaction: “Nah this is insane!”
The former Ole Miss star has impressed the sports world before; his famous chase down of Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker as the Arizona Cardinals ace stormed towards a touchdown was one of the most memorable plays of the 2020 NFL season. His leaping ability was evidenced at the 2019 NFL Combine, where Metcalf cleared 11 foot and two inches on a broad jump.
Metcalf truly displayed his impressive talent at the All-Star Celebrity Game after he enjoyed another solid season for the Seahawks in 2022, as the young team surprisingly clinched a playoff berth in the NFC where they were knocked out at the Wild Card round at the hands of their division rivals, the San Francisco 49ers. He finished the regular season with 1,048 receiving yards, 90 receptions and six touchdowns.
