Blink-182 made up of Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Travis Barker, burst onto the rock scene in the 90s and enjoyed a string of hits including ‘All The Small Things’, and ‘Adam’s Song’. However, despite their smash song ‘What’s My Age Again?’ coming out in 1999, it’s recently gone viral again as people have been left stunned that they’ve been singing one lyric wrong for almost 25 years.

Believed to have been inspired by bass player Mark Hoppus, who was often told (usually by women) that he was immature. It tells the story of an emotionally immature man who does everything wrong while on a date, including watching television instead of kissing and prank-calling her mum.

Posted to Instagram account 90skid4lyfe, he wrote: “My whole term experience is a lie…” As the Blink-182 song plays out, the text over him reads: “When you’re 35 and just found out he says ‘I wore cologne’ instead of ‘I walk alone’.

People flocked to respond to the video with many stunned they didn’t know the correct lyric either. One person replied: “Are you fu**in kidding me? I’m 32 and just learning this. I've been singing it wrong for nearly 20 years.” And someone else wrote: “I'm 40 and my youth was a lie.” Another user added: “I’m 42 and will continue to sing It wrong cause ‘walk alone’ is better.”

However, lots of fans were fuming and blasted others for not knowing the right words. One person vented: “HOW does “I walk alone … to get the feeling right…” even make sense?” To which someone replied: “People in the comments saying how would I walk alone to get the feeling right make sense. Because every song lyric makes perfect sense right? Lol”
