When it comes to baking and cooking, eggs are one of the trickiest ingredients to use. Whether you struggle to poach them to perfection or dislike peeling the shell, they can be a right nuisance.
Thankfully, there's lots of clever tips and tricks chefs use to make their lives easier. But it turns out you don't need any fancy technique to separate the egg white from the yolk, as there's a simple way to complete the much-hated recipe instruction.
One man who had never heard of the 'game changer' method took to the internet to share his shock and others also wished they'd discovered it sooner.
Explaining his discovery, @that40yearguy said: "For forty years of baking cakes and trying to separate the yolk from the white I could have been doing this."
He then proceeded to demonstrate the trick, which requires cooks to rub their fingers over peeled garlic before pinching the yolk and pulling it away. Yes, that's right. You don't need to use the shell or find any other utensil; you can simply use your hands.

One stunned fan said: "I’m starting to think garlic can fix anything at this point."
A second added: "I did your garlic trick and it’s a game changer…" but someone else replied: "It would take me longer to separate and peel the garlic clove than separating the egg with the shell."
Commenters were quick to point out you can skip the garlic too, meaning the trick takes even less time than the video's creator suspected.
"Wait until you find out you don’t need the garlic," read one reply, and someone else explained: "You don’t need the garlic. You can grab them barehanded. It's a trick I learned in culinary school."
