Seattle Seahawks legend Richard Sherman has expressed his outrage at the team's new head coach Mike Macdonald, following his decision to remove numerous murals and references to the team's past triumphs.

The first press conference since Macdonald took over was held this week by the Seahawks, where reporters noticed that most of the images and memorabilia adorning the walls of the team's training facility had been removed. When questioned about this, general manager John Schneider and defensive leader Leonard Williams revealed that Macdonald is aiming to create 'his own legacy' with the team.

Schneider further explained on Seattle Sports radio that it was Macdonald's choice to take down the slogans and images from former head coach Pete Carroll's tenure. He added that while they celebrate their history elsewhere in the building and around their stadium, they are now concentrating on the future.

Among the images removed was Sherman's iconic play against the San Francisco 49ers, where he tipped a Colin Kaepernick pass for an interception, sending the team to the Super Bowl. Upon learning of this, Sherman took to social media to vent his frustration at Macdonald's decision.

In response to former teammate Kam Chancellor's tweet stating: "You can't erase "The Legion". The standard is already set," Sherman responded to a fan who claimed the team was stuck in the past.

The legendary cornerback tweeted: "Yea I'm sure every great franchise is removing its legendary players pictures from their building because they can't ever live up to that. Makes sense. Sure the Ravens don't have pictures of Ray Lewis and that great defense. I'm sure Pittsburgh doesn't have pictures of all the great moments. I'm sure Dallas, SF, NE all remove pictures of the history of their Franchise because of a new coach. Makes sense."

Sherman is a beloved figure among Seahawks fans and is occasionally invited back to the building. However, he is considered a controversial figure after joining the team's bitter rivals, the 49ers, after leaving the Seahawks.

Since retiring, Sherman has shown support for the Seahawks, remaining close with Pete Carroll and linebacker Bobby Wagner.

Following the departure of Carroll, Wagner, and general manager Schneider this offseason, Sherman has made insinuations that the team made a mistake in letting him go. The Seahawks had just one playoff win in their final six years under Carroll, falling behind the Los Angeles Rams and 49ers in the NFC West.
