The NAACP Image Awards honoured Queen Latifah ahead of her birthday.
The star's birthday is March 18 and she'll be turning 54 years old this year, but while hosting the award show, the audience sang Stevie Wonder's version of Happy Birthday with Sheryl Lee Ralph taking the lead. A cake was rolled out onto the stage for the actress, decorated in royal blue icing with white, cursive font. An illustration of an NAACP Image Award was also decorated onto the gorgeous cake.
After Sheryl danced through the crowd and encouraged others to get involved, the attention was tossed back over to Queen who was hosting the award show. She said: "Oh and you want me to talk after that, after you blind side me? Okay, thank you so much everybody. I really appreciate that."

Sheryl Lee Ralph lead the audience in singingActress Erika Alexander was by Queen's side as the crowd showered her in love. Fans were excited to see the pair make an appearance together. Some are hopeful that they'll reunite on a project some time soon.

Queen seemed to shine all night as fans loved her fashion and energy. "So ain't nobody saying anything about what Queen Latifah blew up on stage with the ruffle purple fit. #idli Anyway...Happy Birthday girl," wrote a fan. Another said: "The outfit changes for Queen Latifah × her hair (of course)"
Queen was accompanied by Erika Alexander"As expected, Queen Latifah's looks just keep getting better and better as the night progresses. A fashion icon, indeed," said a third. Twitter was full and flooded of birthday love for the actress and rapper. Another fan said: "HAPPY BIRTHDAY Queen Latifah wish you many more and enjoy your special birthday."
The NAACP Image Awards brought together some of the most powerful stars in Hollywood to celebrate and uplift people of colour in the arts. The 55th annual ceremony saw over 40 award categories handed out to well-deserving talent.
