Burnley co-owner JJ Watt couldn't resist a cheeky dig, echoing Nottingham Forest's scathing critique of Premier League referees after their loss to Everton. The Premier League side blasted the officials for alleged bias favouring their opponents.
Forest's battle to stay clear of the relegation zone took another hit following a 2-0 defeat by Everton, leaving them teetering just a point above the drop zone, with Luton Town breathing down their necks. During the match, Forest were left seething as they were denied what they felt were three clear penalties.
Seasoned referee Stuart Attwell was overseeing VAR duties during the contentious match, and Forest have insinuated that he supports Luton Town.

In a fiery statement released on X, Nottingham Forest's official page didn't mince words: "Three extremely poor decisions - three penalties not given - which we simply cannot accept. We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a Luton fan before the game but they didn't change him. Our patience has been tested multiple times. NFFC will now consider its options."
Premier League odds and betting tipsWatt, who has been a co-owner of Burnley for the past year, suggested he would have posted something similar had he been in the same position. He quipped: "This is about what it might look like if I took over control of our official club account."
Since getting involved with the Clarets, Watt hasn't shied away from expressing his opinions on controversial decisions affecting the team. The potential future NFL Hall of Famer and his wife Kealia are often spotted supporting the team at Turf Moor.
Watt aired his grievances about refereeing on Sky Sports' 'Stick To Football ', alongside football pundits Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott, Roy Keane, and Ian Wright. He shared his frustration: "Lately, a few referees I've wanted to have that message with. It's so frustrating.
"At the beginning when I invested, you'd heard things from the fans that referees go against small town clubs, and I thought 'Sure, sure'. I'm a player and we complained about referees all the time. But then as the season starts to go on, you think that there are a lot of interesting things happening [with decisions].
"I've gone on X before and I don't know how the fines system works over here, I play dumb sometimes 'I don't know how this works, but these refs are pretty bad'. know Vincent and Alan [Pace] can't say it, but I'll take the hit."
