Pupils have been evacuated and sent home after a car drove through the wall of a primary school building in Liverpool.
Pictures taken at Beacon Church of England Primary School on Heyworth Street, Everton, Liverpool, show bricks all over the floor and a huge gap in the wall after the accident. A white car can be seen inside the building. The crash happened at around 8.30am this morning.
Following the crash, pupils were evacuated from the building and sent home for the day. Police, paramedics and fire engines rushed to the school on Heyworth Street and a police cordon was put in place along a stretch of the road.
Merseyside Police said the female driver of the car is being assessed at the scene after the crash. A passenger in the car suffered a minor injury, the police force added.

The force said in a statement: "We can confirm that emergency services are in Everton following a road traffic collision at a school this morning, Monday 22 April.
"At around 8.30am, reports were received of a car in collision with The Beacon Primary School in Heyworth Street, Everton. The female driver of the car is being assessed at the scene.
"A passenger in the car sustained a minor injury. No other injuries were reported and no children were present in the area of the collision.
"The building will be assessed for any structural damage. The school will be closed for the rest of the day and road closures are in place. Please avoid the area."
The school teaches children aged two to 11. Parents told of their shock after witnessing the incident shortly after arriving at the school this morning, reported the Liverpool Echo. The Mirror has contacted the school for further information.
A Merseyside Police spokesman later said a 39-year-old woman from Walton, Liverpool, had been arrested on suspicion of drug driving and careless driving.
