A FORMER Celebrity Big Brother star has slammed Colson Smith for "showing emotions" in a teary moment on-screen.
Last week, ITV fans were left stunned at Colson's unexpected outburst after he was branded "boring" by Levi Roots, 65.
The dig saw the Coronation Street actor, 25 - loved by thousands of soap fans for his role as PC Craig Tinker - retreat to the toilet for a sob.
Yet ex housemate and broadcaster James Whale, 72, who starred on Celebrity Big Brother's 18th season in 2016, believed the blubbering was a faux-pas.
James exclusively told us: "He seems a very nice young guy, a very quiet young guy.

"But he is slightly boring.
"I'm sure as an actor he is very good but he shouldn't have let his emotions go like that [referring to him crying over the comment]."
James added: "It did not do him any favours at all.
"I felt sorry for him, I really did feel sorry for him.
"And for that reason he may well be in the final few."
Colon's tears were sparked during a task in which Levi - who has since been evicted - had to confess who he thinks is most boring.
In the challenge, Levi told the group: “If I was going to pick one, it would have been pre yesterday, I would’ve said it would’ve been Colson...”
Shortly after the actor took himself off to the toilet and let all his emotions out.
Pal and Strictly star Nikita Kuzmin followed him and waited outside so console him.
One equally heartbroken fan took to X to write: "I am actually really sad for Colson. Levi didn't mean anything bad when he said Colson was the most boring.

"However I get how Colson is feeling. He's had insecurities about his weight in the past - Louis moaned at him yesterday for not pulling his weight. He feels insecure."
Meanwhile, the soap star showed his emotional side last night after BFF Nikita nominated himself for eviction.
Colson appeared frustrated that the Ukrainian is now in the danger zone after volunteering himself for the role.
Additionally, James hasn't been shy in spilling his Celebrity Big Brother secrets.
Previously, he told how show bosses ordered him to leave after he suffered pneumonia while on the show - yet he refused.
His furious food fight with shamed MTV star Stephen Bear also sparked an evacuation of the CBB compound.
Despite this, he narrowly missed out on a spot in the show final.
He stuck it out for 23 days before being given the boot.
His series was ultimately won by former Ex On The Beach star Bear, who was recently released from prison 11 months into his sentence for sharing a sex tape of his ex, Georgia Harrison.
