Police are investigating the "sudden and unexplained death" of a man found lifeless outside a rugby club in the Welsh capital.
Officers say the man's body was discovered near Llandaff Rugby Club in Cardiff at around 3am today. A police cordon is in place and enquiries are ongoing. A spokeswoman for South Wales Constabulary said the man's death is "sudden and unexplained". They added: "A police cordon is in place and enquiries are ongoing."
A walkway near the rugby club has been closed off and there is a large police presence in the area. The walkway links the busy Western Avenue with Llandaff Cathedral. Llandaff Rugby Club said: "Due to an ongoing police incident the walkway from the club to Llandaff village and the club car park is currently closed."
Traffic is slow in and around Llandaff, a suburb in Cardiff's west. Access to Llandaff Cathedral, a large Anglican cathedral and parish church, is limited. Llandaff Rugby Club is just off the A48 - Western Avenue - which runs east to west through Cardiff. Westbound traffic is particularly heavy with delays back to the Gabalfa area, and it's congested from Waun-gron Park in the other direction.
