Gregg Wallace has delighted fans by sharing a very rare and adorable video of his autistic son Sid.
The MasterChef star, 59, took to Instagram on Monday to post a heartwarming video of four-year-old Sid spending some quality time with his grandmother, Norma. The sweet clip sees Sid sitting on his nan's lap before marking a huge milestone and counting to ten. After Sid reached number ten, he and his nan started to clap before the pair shared a sweet embrace.
Gregg previously revealed that his four-year-old had been non-verbal but surprised his parents by saying his first words back in March.
After showing off his new counting skills, Sid's proud dad Gregg could be heard cheering while he filmed the precious moment. Alongside the video, which he captioned simply 'Sid and Nonna', Gregg also tagged UK national charity Ambitious About Autism.
Gregg, who has previously been very private and selective about what he shows of his son, clearly couldn't be more proud of Sid as he cheered and laughed in the video. After posting it on Instagram, Sid's progress was met with much support and congratulations from Gregg's fans as they flocked to gush over the adorable moment.
Millionaire who killed son, 8, with pill overdose found dead in apartment"Well done Sid. You're a star," one gushed. Another echoed: "This is incredible to see. Sid seems like he's come on so well. You should be extremely proud of this little boy."
Another one of Gregg's Instagram followers gushed: "Sid what a wonder you are. That must have taken a lot of work for him. And look at all the love he shows towards his beautiful nanny - that's a bond that will never be broken."
It comes after Sid shared his first words on Mother's Day whilst learning to count following years of non-verbal communication. Back in 2022, Gregg and his wife Anna were told that their son had been diagnosed with autism, as well as global development delay.
However, since then, Sid has started to count and is thoroughly progressing in his communication style. On Mother's Day, Gregg and Anna were left in tears when Sid started to communicate verbally for the very first time.
Gregg shared footage of his son counting whilst at home and wrote alongside it: "Sid is counting! It's his first words." The video showed Sid sitting on the floor and counting with the help of a list of numbers in a book. Sid is seen going through some of the numbers and pointing at them, whilst making the sounds that are associated with each number.
Gregg's wife Anna, 37, also shared the footage on her Instagram account on the special day. She expressed her pride in the accompanying caption and described the development as the "best" Mother's Day present she could receive.
Anna wrote in the caption of her post: "The best Mother's Day present I could ever have. This little boy has made me the happiest I could ever be. I am so proud of him. This is Sid and his voice."
Gregg previously said that communication with Sid included a "lot of eye contact and smiles". He had shared earlier this year that although his son was non-verbal, he has "a lot of character" and the presenter expressed hope that the family would be able to "understand his world" as much as possible.
