Fleur East has shared an insight into her life as a new mum after giving birth to her baby on her living room floor.
The radio host, 36, revealed earlier this year that she was expecting a baby with her husband Marcel Badiane-Robin. Fleur revealed that the couple - who got married back in 2019 - welcomed their child, Nova, into the world last month.
The happy news was shared with Fleur's followers on Instagram. At the time, The X Factor finalist wrote: "And just like that, our baby girl, Nova, is here!! Our daughter entered the world via squat position into the arms of my Husband and I on our living room floor.
"One day I will share my birth story with you (what a RIDE!), but for now, we are resting and doing well. So thankful to the amazing midwives who were by my side, my birthing partners (my auntie Tina and my Husband @marcel__robin ) and all of our family who have been helping out and showering us with love. It really does take a village! So grateful to God for this blessing. Our little Nova was born on the 22nd March and it feels like she's always been here."
The former X Factor star has been busy getting to grips with motherhood, and appearing on Hits Radio on Tuesday morning, Fleur admitted that it felt weird for her to be talking to other adults due to the fact she has mostly been spending time with her baby and her husband.
Stacey Dooley supported by fans as star 'mum-shamed' ahead of giving birth"It's so weird to talk to other adults - I’ve been talking in a baby voice for so many weeks now," she joked. "The first week was a complete blur, I was just a walking zombie, I didn’t know what was going on. I felt like I was a milk machine for seven days straight, but now I’m adjusting I feel a little bit more human. It’s going to take some time but I’m enjoying it a lot more now.
"I can't go into it [the birth] I need some time to get over it to be honest. It’s funny because there’s a spot in my living room that every time I walk past, I’m reminded of exactly where Nova was born and that makes it a little harder to get around. I think she has the Fleur East vocals - her pitch and tone are very clear. When she starts crying it’s like OK those lungs are working - she can project very well."
The new mum added: "Loads of people say to me you’re never going to remember life without her, and I try to but it’s very hazy, it feels like it’s in the distant past. And it is weird now, I can’t imagine going day to day without Nova in my life. It’s very strange but amazing."
Fleur announced that she was pregnant back in January. She shared the news with fans on New Year's Day, posting a photo of herself cradling her baby bump. Teasing about the year ahead, she wrote: "2024 is gonna be different..."
Fleur then shared in early February that she would be taking time off from Hits Radio's Breakfast Show, which she joined in 2019. She wrote about her temporary departure in a post that she uploaded to Instagram following her last show. She said at the time: "I'm off! Off to go and have a baby! I've had an amazing last week with my [Hits Radio] family, filled with fun interviews, laughs and surprises for my last show. Thank you to my [team] for making my last week so special."
