Kirstie Allsopp is fuming over a "poisonous" household item, which she says is only used by "morons".
The outspoken Location, Location, Location star, 52, is known for her no-nonsense approach on the Channel 4 show and now she's taken to X to vent her feelings over plug-in air fresheners. Describing the item as "poison", she wrote: "Plug in air fresheners are poison. If you use them you are a moron who is poisoning yourself, your family & your pets. No reason for them whatsoever."
While air fresheners mask odours with floral scents, many rely on chemicals - which may harbour toxins - to generate fragrances and allow them to linger in the air. Kirstie went on to share several tweets about the "offensive" plug-ins, admitting: "I switch them off, or take out the batteries. I'm an air fresher terrorist."
Her post was well-received by a lot of her followers, who claimed they'd suffered a range of symptoms from using the household item, including stinging eyes and breathing complications. However, one of her fans objected to Kirstie using the word "moron", saying she could have picked something "more kind".
Replying to the suggestion, the Channel 4 presenter agreed that the word was "not nice", but claimed she'd been complaining about air fresheners for a number of years and it was "only this tweet that cut through".
Love It or List It fans slam ‘fame-hungry’ pair as they spot them on ad mid-showAir Wick, one of the biggest manufacturers of air fresheners in the UK, says its plug-ins are safe to use, as long as you always read the instructions provided with the product and follow the guidance. This includes plugging the product only into properly functioning, exposed 230-240-volt electrical wall outlet where the product is ventilated and cannot contact bed covering or other material.
Kirstie's rant comes just days after the broadcaster fumed her frustration when her British Airways flight was delayed for nearly 48 hours. The delay caused the mum of two to miss hospital appointments and filming, according to the presenter.
The host appears to still be holed up in the mystery location after returning to the airport only to find out that the departure had been delayed yet again. Venting her anger, she posted on X: "I don't think I have ever been so enraged by any company as I have been, and still am, with @British_Airways.
"This latest episode, a delay of over 24 hours with next to no information and missed hospital appointments and filming as a result, is but another in a long line of [poo emoji]." After an hour-and-a-half's breather, the Channel 4 star returned to social media to add: "We pitched up at the airport as instructed, 24 hours after our original flight, waited 2 hours to be told that our flight is now delayed by another 21 hours until 5pm local time tomorrow. That amounts to a 47-hour wait in total."
Kirstie's post, which has been viewed by more than 65,000 people, did get a prompt reply from the airline's official X account, inviting the aristocrat, who is the eldest child of Charles Allsopp, 6th Baron Hindlip, to contact them so they could "take a closer look" to see if they could arrange an earlier flight.
